You can save yourself loads of cash by doing some of your regular beauty treatments yourself. Here are four you can do at home.

Going for beauty treatments is relaxing and you are guaranteed a pro finish. The only problem? They cost money! Save some bucks by doing some of your own treatments at home. Here are four you can do yourself.

1. Manicures + pedicures

Give yourself a neat at-home manicure or pedicure by using a base coat underneath and a top coat to seal your shade and prevent chipping. Don’t have a steady hand? Apply cuticle oil around your nails to prevent varnish from making a mess.

If you want something more long-lasting and professional-looking, you can buy gel nail colours online as well as the little machines to set your polish in place.

2. Facials

If your skin needs some extra hydration or a glow boost, you can give yourself a decent facial at home. Give your skin a double cleanse, exfoliate it gently but thoroughly and apply a mask that targets your specific concerns.

If you struggle with acne, don’t go near your skin with your fingers or extraction tools, no matter how tempted you are. Leave that to the professionals!

3. Dying brows + lashes

If you want to change the colour of your lashes temporarily, you can use lash and brow tint, which lasts about six weeks. This is something that you can easily do yourself, all you need is your tint of choice, volume-10 peroxide and a cotton bud.

Mix a pea-sized amount of tint with 15 drops of the peroxide. Apply it to your brows or lashes. Leave it on for three minutes and then carefully remove. Voilà!

4. Self-tanning

No longer just a product loved and used by pale people, more and more people with darker skin tones are now also using this product to contour their bodies.

Before you apply it, make sure your skin has been exfoliated, paying special attention to your elbows, knees and feet. Apply a hydrating lotion (adding more to these areas) and make sure the self-tanner is completely dry before getting dressed.
