Dates in winter might be cosy. But, now that summer is here, we can spend more time enjoying the warm weather. So it only makes sense to take your dates outdoors! Here are five fun activities to enjoy for a romantic sunny season.
1. Go for a walk
A romantic stroll in a scenic place, whether a park or a beach, is a great way to spend time together. If you are feeling fit and adventurous, you could even explore a local hiking trail. You or bae got a dog? Bring them with you and make their day, too!
2. Have a picnic
We have an array of botanical gardens and pretty parks in SA. A great summer date idea is to pack a picnic lunch to enjoy together under some trees. If you don’t want to go anywhere, you could even have a picnic in your garden – all you need are the snacks!
3. Spend time in water
South Africa is literally surrounded by two oceans. This means that many people are #blessed to live close to some of the world’s best beaches – a great place to waste time with your partner. If you don’t live coastal, a day relaxing by a pool is a good alternative.
4. Visit a market
With the festive season fast approaching and the sunny season being well and truly here, there are loads of permanent and seasonal markets to visit, selling everything from food to clothes. Visit some in your area to enjoy some local artisanal eats.
5. Attend an outdoor event
Because of our gorgeous climate, many summer events are hosted under the stars. These range from music performances to movie screenings. A cute date would be to attend one of these, where you can snuggle under a blanket when the sun goes down.
